The new students of academic session 2025-26 for the Faculty of Nursing, namely B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing, A.N.M. and P.B.B.Sc. were welcomed through an Induction Program, “Deeksharambh 2025” on 1st August, 2025 held in the Lecture Theatre on the ground floor of the Hospital Block, Era University. The Student Induction Program (SIP) was held according to the SAGE model of UGC with emphasis on socializing, associating, governing and experiencing. The Induction will be followed by a week of Orientation and Foundation Classes.
The hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi focused on the facilities at Era Hospital and the related duties and responsibilities of the nurses as they get trained to execute them. He also encouraged the nursing students to opt for higher education and research. He spoke about the importance of regular attendance. He encouraged the students to inculcate a feeling of dedication and compassion towards their patients and become the best professionals in their field.
Principal, Nursing, Prof. Priscilla Samson delivered the welcome address, where she introduced the various courses at the Faculty of Nursing at Era University to the students. She also mentioned rules and regulations pertaining to the Nursing Faculty.
The Assistant Controller of Examination, Dr. Sheeba Rizvi addressed the students and discussed the examination policy of Era University. She guided the students about examination pattern in nursing faculty.
The Proctor, Prof. Dilshad Ali Rizvi spoke about the importance of good behavior on campus to save students from any punishment. He stressed on the importance of discipline on campus.
The Induction program was concluded by a vote of thanks by Dr. Rupali Mirza, Chairperson, Induction-Orientation, Era University and Head, Department of English. The event was compered by Mrs. Sonia Agnes. The Chairperson thanked all the people who were instrumental in making the program successful including her own team members, namely, Dr. Minhaj Usmani, Dr. Saleha Jafri, Dr. Shazia Fatima, Dr. Shipra Srivastava, Mr. Ajaydeep Singh, Ms. Jyoti Anurag and Ms. Laiba Rind. The Induction program was graced by other dignitaries from Nursing, namely, Prof. H.C.L. Rawat, Prof. Roseline Soren and Prof. Pinki Devi. The coordinators from Nursing, Ms. Akansha.K. Nath, Mr. Om Prakash Shukla, Mrs. Sonia Agnes Singh, and Ms. Karishma Maurya were also present on the occasion.
