The World Breastfeeding Week (1-7th August) was celebrated by the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology at ELMCH, Era University, Lucknow in association with Lucknow Academy of Pediatrics. Among various ongoing and planned activities, a poster competition under this year's theme -Breast Feeding the Elixir of Life" for the nursing and undergraduate medical students was organized today.
The students participated with zeal and enthusiasm, as reflected in the comprehensive poster presentation by the student. The competition was judged by the eminent professor in the field of Gynecology and Pediatrics Dr.(Prof) Archana Kumar, Dr. (Prof) K. A. Khan, Dr(Prof) Kumkum Srivastava and by the medical superintendent of the institute Dr. (Col.) Arvind Singh.
The mothers were briefed about the benefits of breastfeeding to newborn and also to the mothers themselves by Dr. Chavvi Nanda and Dr. Geetika Srivastava. Dr. Sumiya Shamsi answered a lot of queries of the mother related to breastfeeding. Dr. Pranajli Saxena and Dr. Lily Singh conducted the whole program.
