Era University organized a Guest Lecture by Prof. Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Director, MFIILIPE, MAHE, Manipal, Karnataka, on “Research Visibility”. Prof. Devi spoke at length on the importance of sharing the research findings by making them visible and accessible so as to increase chances of research being noticed, used and having impact. She further stated that visibility of research also increases the reputation and chances of success of the researchers. Prof. Devi stated that increasingly, the activities related to promoting their research can take place at all stages of the research process: from the discovery stage, through analysis and writing process, through to publishing, outreach, and assessment.
Vice Chancellor of Era University Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi welcomed the guest speaker and emphasized the importance of sharing research findings with the peers and public at large so as to have greater impact in the research arena. He said that making research visible makes it more citable and people may accept, reject or even ignore your findings but it does get noticed by the public at large.
Prof. Sucheta P. Dandekar, of Department of Biochemistry conducted the program which was attended by a large number of faculty members, research scholars and students. Concluding the program Prof. Dandekar stated that researchers have a variety of activities and tools to promote work, connect with other researchers, and engage in scholarly discourse.
