Era College of Pharmacy, Era University, organized the "National Pharmacy Week" with effect from 20th November 2018 to 24th November 2018. Numerous events were organized during the week.
The program was inaugurated by Shri Syed. Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi, Chairman, Minority Commission of India, New Delhi, and on the occasion a keynote address was delivered by Dr. M.N. Saraf, Associate Dean, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Mumbai.
The program started with the welcome address by Dr. Mohini Chaurasia, Vice-Principal, Era College of Pharmacy, Era University, Lucknow. Thereafter, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Era University, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi delivered his address wherein he welcomed the honorable guests and complimented the team Era College of Pharmacy for organizing the program. At the end of the inaugural function, a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Ali Ahmad, Dean, Era College of Pharmacy.
There were numerous invited talks like that delivered on "Naming of the drugs" by Dr. Kamla Pathak, Professor, Pharmacy College, Saifai University of Medical Sciences, Saifai, U.P. There was also experience sharing by Prof. Dr. Shailendra K. Saraf, Director, Faculty of Pharmacy, BBD, NIIT, Lucknow, U.P. Invited talk on "Current scenario: Avenues and opportunities for Pharmacy graduates" was delivered by Dr. Shubhini A. Saraf, Prof., and Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, BBAU, Lucknow. Moreover, an interactive session with experts from Industry, Academia, and Research for the benefit of the students were also organized.
"˜We Do Care' a social outreach program about educating people regarding the purchase, handling, and storage of medicine was also held. "Creative Expression" a poster making competition on "˜Pharmacists for Healthy India' and "InQUIZitive" a quiz competition based on the theme of NPW was also held. "Rangoli Competition" on theme "˜Pharmacists for Healthy India' was also organized in which students participated with great enthusiasm.
