The Departments of Community Medicine, Era’s Lucknow Medical College & Hospital, Era University organized an Orientation Program under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India Pilot Project of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI). The program was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Era University Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Mahdi complimented the department of Community Medicine for organizing the event. He said that the Government of India has started this Pilot Project for the benefit of the training the doctors of Medical Colleges and Era’s Lucknow Medical College and Hospital has been selected by the Government of India as one of the Medical Colleges to participate in this Multi-Centric Pilot Project. He also spoke of the various adverse minor or major events which may take place following vaccination and they have to be reported.
Dr. N.S. Rathore, State Coordinator and Dr. Raj Kumar, AEFI Consultant Representatives from National Health Mission and Immunization Technical Support Unit of Ministry of health and Family Welfare, Government of India also spoke on the occasion and talked about reporting of AEFI.
