Era University under its MoU with VU (Vrije University) Medical Centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands organized a CME on "Luminal Gastroenterology" which was graced by Prof. Chris J. Mulder, ex-Dean, VU Medical Centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands, and a world-renowned gastroenterologist. The program was organized by the Department of Pediatrics, Era's Lucknow Medical College & Hospital under the leadership of the Head of the Department Prof. Shrish Bhatnagar. A large number of consultants and postgraduate students participated in the program.
The CME was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Era University Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi. Speaking on the occasion he expressed his happiness that this program is being organized under Era University and Vrije University academic program.
The inaugural function was also graced by Prof. Chris J. Mulder and Prof. Hari S. Sharma, both from V.U. Medical Centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Dr. Deepak Kumar Agarwal, leading Gastroenterologist of the city as Guest of Honor, Prof. Farzana Mahdi, Director - Academics, Era University, Prof. M.A.A. Faridi, Dean & Principal, Era's Lucknow Medical College & Hospital.
Prof. Mulder, who is an international authority on Celiac Disease and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) spoke on "Celiac disease: Do's and Don'ts in management and long-term complications" and "Management of IBD with the focus to improve quality of life". Dr. Amit Goel, Department of Gastroenterology, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, spoke on "Concept of Quality of Life with special reference to GI Diseases". Dr. Vaibhav Shukla, Department of Medicine, Era's Lucknow Medical College & Hospital, spoke on the topic "Burden of Celiac disease and IBD in Adults: Global versus Indian". Dr. Shrish Bhatnagar, Professor & Head, Department of Paediatrics, Era's Lucknow Medical College & Hospital, "Burden of Celiac disease and IBD in Children: Global versus Indian".
